About me

Hello, I’m Gus and welcome.

I hope that the information and content on this site is of extraordinary value to you.

Let me tell you a little about who I am and what my life and career have been like.

I was born in the city of Maracaibo in Venezuela, the beloved land of the sun. I consider that I had a happy childhood with parents who gave me a lot of love and, above all, opportunities. In those times, my country was a land of opportunity where many people from all over the world went to make their lives and work. Like most Venezuelans (I can’t speak for all) I never thought of emigrating since we had everything. But circumstances in 2002 made me make the decision to emigrate to Mexico, which I consider my second homeland and where I completed my professional studies in Law.

When I graduated as a Lawyer, I still did not have a clear plan as to whether or not I was going to practice my profession, however I had the opportunity to work with one of the most prestigious lawyers in Mexico and for almost 3 years I learned as much as I could about Law. Civil and Commercial.

That time of learning was even fun because when I was an intern I exchanged my time, work and effort for knowledge and our boss was quite peculiar. Since he did not have sons, he saw all of us (Lawyers and interns) as his children, so we had to accompany him everywhere, even to the hairdresser hahahaha and even to look for his clothes at the dry cleaners. But it was worth it because we were learning from the best!

Then I decided to travel to China to study international trade and foreign investment and I did so at one of the best business schools in the city of Beijing. At first it was quite hard because in China very few people speak English and everything but absolutely everything is in Chinese. It took me 3 months to activate the Blackberry (those who are from that era know what I mean) and all because I couldn’t communicate well. My study trip to China was with the purpose of traveling to Panama, so I not only went to study but also to look for contacts to export industrial products for the oil industry in Latin America.

After I finished my studies, I started my trip to Panama (my third homeland) from Beijing with a stopover in Hong Kong (which, by the way, I had to cross the border walking with 4 giant suitcases) and it was funny because when I crossed from China to Hong Kong I said I RETURNED TO THE FIRST WORLD where the internet works!

What else…

Already in Panama I opened my own logistics company to send products from the Colón Free Zone to several Latin American countries and later a restaurant and a printing and advertising services center for companies.

Due to the situation in Panama a few years later, where trade began to decrease, I decided to sell everything and go to study my second postgraduate degree in Canada (the first was a Master’s Degree in Commercial Law in Panama) with the intention of staying in that country but unfortunately I couldn’t do it because my passport expired (Venezuelans know what I mean) and I had to leave the country at the end of my authorized time.

In Canada I made great friends and was fortunate to be able to work with people from all over the world who even made me change my view on arranged marriages hahaha.

Currently, I am back in my second homeland Mexico and I decided to start this project to help students and fellow lawyers develop effective marketing and sales strategies and learn more about the disciplines that support the business of law.

Thank you for taking the time to read this short biography hehehe and again I hope that the content of this site and my social networks is of great value to you.
